Robot Girl

The original portrait came from Unsplash and it was taken by Omid Armin. I created a vector image of the portrait in illustrator to start with to get all the lined details in the face. I then used it as an overlay on the actual image in photoshop and I changed the blend mode to difference. Originally I was going to make a silver robot but the colours I added in illustrator made this awesome gold come up and thought that's it. a happy mistake. I then moved onto the eyes. I painted a pink colour a separate layer and changed the blend mode to colour and lowered the opacity. I masked them over the eyes. I then added red to the iris of the eyes and changed the blend mode to linear burn. I took a png image of a lens and blended them into the eyes using multiply to give this cool effect I changed the hair to a red colour using a hue and saturation adjustment layer. I then added a plastic wrap to the the whole image with the highlights and detail high. the last touch was to use a circuit board brush and painted the green bits onto a separate layer and then added a glow to them using the layer styles.
