Mermaid

The original photo was a dancer stock image from NicePNG. I created the mermaid tail from a Mermaid costume image and made it look realistic by using soft light and screen blending modes and duplicating a few times. This helped to keep the leg shape under the tail. I then added a glitter texture and used overlay and lowered the opacity to get the shine. I changed the hue of the dancers skin to match the colour of the tail. The hair I brightened up using curves . originally the arm was pointing up so I changed the position to look as if she is swimming. The background I used a dark solid layer and added clouds. I added light blue brush strokes to give it depth. I created my own bubble brush using eclipse tool and define brush preset to give more detail to the image.
