This photo was taken in the Crew Bar onboard QM2. It was one of many crew parties and also a really good night. This is a fellow photog. When I started snapping away I realised I hadn't set my white balance but I loved the effect so kept it the whole night. I brightened the eyes up and added a catch light, added some longer lashes and smoothed the skin using hypass filter. I got rid of the bags using the healing brush, stamp tool and brush tool and lowering the opacity quite a bit. I sharpened the hair, eyes and lips using the unsharp mask. The main difficulty was the yellow shadows on her face. I tried several methods which included shadow and highlights adjustment layer, level and curves, hue and saturation, stamp tool and painted the colour on but nothing was looking natural. In the end I created a black and white layer and then masked it in the section. I then took a low opacity brush and used the picker to get the main tone of the face. I brushed over the saturation layer and merged the two. I then changed it to a soft light blend mode and lowered the opacity. I erased the edges with a soft brush to blend in better. I created a merged layer on top of the others and added a colour lookup of day to night and lowered the opacity down and used a soft light blend mode to finish the image off.
